Barbara High welcomes you to Pillows in Paradise. As the trade winds rustle off the Pacific ocean, your breath is stolen away as you look upward towards the heavens and are enveloped by the majestic emerald Koolau mountains. Some say that God, Himself, draped a green velvet cover over the tops of the mountains and let it gracefully fall into pleats at the very bottom until it met with the brilliance of the white sands and aqua blue waters.

Pillows in Paradise is at the base of this majestic site and only four blocks away from the world famous Kailua. With convenient public transportation only one block away, the sights and activities of Oahu are never far away.

Barbara High, owner and operator of Pillows in Paradise opens the comforts of her spacious home to share this wonderful experience. You may choose from private one bedroom units (each overlooking the pool deck and snuggled between the palm trees) or for larger groups, a spacious studio unit furnished with both a king size and double bed. All units include private bathrooms and entrances, telephones, televisions, and everything you need when you want an alternative to eating out. Included with each room is a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave and other kitchen items. Local grocery stores are close by with an open air produce market held each Thursday.

Whether you are traveling by yourself or as part of a family or group of up to seven people, Pillows In Paradise can offer you an alternative to costly Waikiki hotels. Many vacation rentals have the disadvantage of not accepting children. Pillows in Paradise loves keikis (children) and welcomes them.

Barbara can help you with ideas about unique restaurants, shops, and activities to explore either in Kailua, on the windward side, or island wide.

Pillows in Paradise loves keikis (children) and welcomes them.
Guests choosing to disregard our non-smoking policy will have their reservations cancelled immediately. The balance of their room rental monies will be forfeited. Further, we will be compensated for lost future revenue by smokers whose smoking renders a room unacceptable for incoming guests.
The pool is available for our guests only children 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Our reservation desk is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Check-in time is after 3 p.m. and before 9 p.m. -- Special arrangements must be made for arrivals after 9 p.m. Check-out time is 11 a.m.

Major credit cards and cash accepted.
50% deposit required with reservations of four or more nights.
Full payment in advance required for reservations of one, two or three nights.
Deposit payable only by major credit card at the time the reservation is made.
Balance due at check-in. Cash or major credit card only.

Extra Fees

Rates based on per night double occupancy. Additional guest are $15.00 each.
Subject to 11.94% state and local occupancy taxes; gratuities at each guest's discretion.

Cancellation Policy

For deposit refund, cancellations must be made at least 30 full days prior to date of arrival.
If a cancellation is made within 30 days of arrival date, then a deposit refund will be made to the extent the accommodations can be rented again over the entire reserved period.
Deposit applies to first and last days of reserved period.
Deposit forfeited for late arrival or early departure, unless accommodations can be rented again.
A 5% cancellation fee is imposed on all cancelled reservations and is deducted from any refunds due to the prospective guest.
A 5% fee will apply to any guest charges, which are transferred from one credit card to another or any charge which is refunded to a credit card, at any time after the initial deposit has been charged. This applies even if the credit cards involved are in the same name. Several credit card companies have rescinded their long standing policy of refunding the discount amount for refunds. The discount amount is the cost businesses incur to accept credit cards and this amount is reflected as a percentage of amount charged. Therefore, we lose money on all credit card refunds or credits.

Directions

From the Honolulu airport, turn right and enter the upper deck of the H-1 highway. Follow H-1 to Honolulu. Exit H-1 at the Pali Highway (interchange 21A) exit. After the Pali cutoff, turn left and follow the Pali Highway through two tunnels. 4.6 miles after you exit the second tunnel, you will reach Kailua's main intersection. Take the right fork (at that intersection) onto Kailua Road. Go through two (2) traffic lights and turn right at Awakea Road (the first right after the two lights). Continue one block to 336 Awakea Rd. You have just arrived at Paradise. Right opposite corner house at intersection with Auwinaia Rd.
