My Island is a collection of historic bed and breakfast rooms, garden units, cottages and houses. Most are nestled in floral gardens, others in a village on the edge of Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii. Guests enjoy a "more than you can eat" breakfast
over which visiting geologists, vulcanologists, historians, wildlife scientists, writers, artists and world travelers discuss their missions in this exciting part of the world. Your hosts, Gordon and Joann, along with their daughter Kii Morse as general manager, have lived in Volcano for 36 years and are experts in touring all the Hawaiian Islands. My Island B&B Inn is one of the oldest in the state, and is a member of the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau, the Professional Association of Innkeepers International, and the Hawaii Island B&B Association, Inc.

Breakfast is served in the main house between 7:00am - 8:30am.
General Information
- Rates are subject to change without notice.
- All rates quoted are for one night.
- Free on-site parking
- We love children, but request that families traveling with young children consider booking one of our guest houses instead of the the individual guest rooms. The guest rooms are not suitable for small children, due to the age of the buildings, stairs, and shared common walls with other guest rooms. The guest houses offer much more privacy, room to spread out, more amenities, separate sleeping arrangements, and outdoors to explore.

Fireplace
- We have a no smoking policy in effect for all our accommodations. You are welcome to smoke outside on the porches or on the grounds.
A $200.00 fine will be charged to your credit card if we find that smoking has taken place in our
accommodations.
- Since we have our own cat, we do not accept any reservations with animals.
Check-In / Check-Out
All
guests must check in at the office between 1:00pm -
5:00pm to register and get the key to your
accommodation. Call for other arrangements if
arriving after 5:00pm. Accepted Payment Methods
We'll accept either a Visa or MasterCard number and expiration date, OR a personal check or money order for US$
50.00 for deposit.
We accept cash, non-bouncing personal US$ checks, travelers checks, Visa, MasterCard, and JCB credit cards.
Extra Fees
- Prices include a generous continental breakfast which is served at our main complex each morning between 7 and 8:30 a.m.
- Local taxes will be applied at the time of stay, currently at 11.5%.
- Returned checks will be assessed a $ 25.00 fee.
Cancellation Policy
- If you send a personal check or money order, the deposit amount is fully refundable up to two weeks prior to your arrival date.
- If you give us your credit card number, your card will NOT be charged ahead of time. Payment for the entire reservation must be made in person by the last day of your stay with us.
- In the event that you FAIL TO SHOW UP for the reservation and DID NOT cancel with us, your credit card will be charged for the entire reservation amount.
Directions
We are located in Volcano Village, just one mile from the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, at the 4,000 foot elevation in a semi-tropical rainforest. It rains an average of 160 inches per year, so prepare for rain! Daytime highs reach the low 70's, nighttime lows generally in the 50's, with winter nights getting into the 40's.
We are 26 miles from the Hilo airport, a drive of 40 minutes. We are 100 miles from the Kona airport, a minimum drive of 2.5 hours. Check-in times are between 1 and 5 pm.
